Timothy Burleson, Finch on Branch
Coffield State Prison, Tennessee Colony, Texas
Timothy Burleson, a prisoner at the Coffield State Prison in Tennessee Colony, Texas, says "Much of my work has to do with color and making the colors glow and catch the eye. The subject may have little to say, but I try to create colors in and around it that demand people to look." He considers himself fortunate to be in the Texas prison system, as opposed to other correctional settings. Texas is very supportive of inmates who pursue the arts, making a wide range of supplies available to them for purchase and allowing them to sell their art and craft creations in many different venues.
